7 random facts about me:
1. My favorite job of all time was being Activity Assistant at the nursing home in my home town. I worked after school and weekends visiting the residents, taking them to activities, helping with the chapel services. I switched jobs to work at a Mexican fast food place called Amigos, but I missed spending time with the senior citizens.
2. I like to collect old hymnbooks and praise books. Some of the songs I find hilarious, but I love finding a song that not only glorifies God, but lays out some good old doctrine on ya!
3. I have lived in 6 different states. 5 of them have been since I got married in 2000. Nebraska, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Kansas, Texas, and Washington. Each of us (my husband, girls, and I) were born in a different state. Bet you can’t guess which one I was born in! (It’s not as easy as you think)
4. I either love wearing shoes or hate wearing shoes, depending on the season. In the winter, I never take my shoes off except right before bed. I always wear my tennis shoes, double knotted, even while watching TV. In the summer, I never wear shoes around the house, not even to get the mail or take out the trash (which is quite a feat considering we have gravel driveways).
5. I am not a flower person. I like daffodils and lilac bushes, but that’s about it. I have never been a flowery kind of gal. If my husband bought me flowers I would probably be disappointed. Good thing he hasn’t done that huh? I would rather have a practical gift, or a gourmet meal!
6. When I was little, I used to sit in the strawberry patch in our garden and eat to my heart’s content. I even ate the green ones if they were just juicy enough. I don’t think I could ever get enough strawberries, even today.
7. I am very thankful for my church here in Washington. I don’t have any family up here and I don’t know how I would have made it through this year with my husband gone without them. They have been a blessing and source of strength to me.
