We went book hunting today. Our excursion took us to Aggieville right in the heart of KState Wildcat territory, to a place called The Dusty Bookshelf. Amazing! It didn’t have the specific book I was looking for, but I did get $10 store credit for bringing in Junie B. Jones books. I also found Phonics Pathways, which I proceeded to get with my store credit!
We then headed over to Hastings, which is a new/used movie/book/game/misc store (it is awesome, trust me!). In their coffee shop, we stopped for a Jones soda for the girls, and a Heath Mocha Freeze for me. While sipping and chit-chatting, we covered the following life-lessons:
-How much change you get back from buying a 27 cent cookie, when you give them 30 cents.
-How to count to 12 (my 3-year old)
-If you have drank 1/2 your Fu-fu berry Jones soda, and there are 12 ounces in the bottle, you have 6 ounces left!
-Stomach acid causes Heartburn
-There are two types of digestion: mechanical and chemical (we discussed both with great interest from the next table of college students)
-How to draw a number 7
After our refreshments, we browsed the store and found Mr. Popper’s Penguins, which we will read together at bedtimes.
Then, we went to Hobby Lobby and purchased decorative brads for our minibooks. While I was deciding on the shape and color of brads, the girls practiced their new Chinese words they learned from watching Ni Hao Kai Lan, a new cartoon they absolutely love!
So, I would say we had a very productive day!

Sounds like a fun day! =)
